In High School, a friend of mine, multi-talented musician extraordinaire Phil Stone, wrote a song and invited me to supply a sax solo. Delighted and honored, of course I said yes. On a warm spring day in Louisville, KY, we recorded the song on a 4-track recorder in the home studio of one of Phil's fellow band members. Beware! The catchy tune will stay with you all day. For chuckles, crank up the volume and listen carefully to the words of Sharon Hirschler just before the drum machine kicks off the song. We decided to keep the accidentally recorded utterance. Yeah, such is art. Here's a more recent photo of Phil in his own home studio: Enjoy! Audio: [mp3] (3.7 MB) Words and music by Phil Stone, 1986. Recorded by Bruce Hirschler, April 1986. Phil Stone: Vocals, synthesizers, guitar, drum programming. |
